The Sacramento City College sports medicine staff strives to provide injury prevention, management, evaluation, and rehabilitation services to all student-athletes. The SCC athletics department is committed to professional, quality care and an ongoing effort to provide the latest and most effective treatments for athletic injuries.
The mission of the sports medicine staff is to provide every SCC student-athlete and visiting student-athletes with high quality health care, in a professional, efficient, compassionate, and service-oriented manner. In consistency with the athletics mission statement on behalf of Sacramento City College, our main goal is to provide a diversified program of prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation that will assure a positive recovery experience, an improved quality of life, a safe return to full athletic participation, and continued athletic success. We are committed to using best practices and evidenced based techniques in delivering these services.
The Athletic Training Facility is located in the North Gym building, room 130.
Sacramento City College is a clinical site for California State University, Sacramento undergraduate Athletic Training Program, as well as SCC students who are interested in athletic training. As a clinical site, SCC provides students who are majoring in athletic training the opportunity to gain knowledge and hands on experience in the field. Athletic Trainers Michael Kaufman, Daniel Romero and Tamara Poole are Preceptors that oversee the athletic training students during their rotation at SCC.
